Testing Information
In Pennsylvania, state assessments such as the Keystone Exams and the PSSA Exams play an important role in measuring student progress and academic growth. At Elizabeth Forward Middle School, counselors help coordinate and administer these exams to ensure a smooth, organized testing experience for students. The PSSA exams assess proficiency in subjects like English Language Arts and Math in middle grades, while the Keystone Exams are end-of-course assessments in subjects such as Algebra I, Literature, and Biology that some middle school students may take if enrolled in advanced courses. Middle School Counselors support students by communicating testing schedules, providing preparation resources, assisting with accommodations for eligible learners, and helping families understand score reports. Their goal is to reduce stress, maintain a positive testing environment, and ensure every student has the opportunity to demonstrate what they know and can do.
